Research for experiments

I looked into laser cutting fabric as I want to know whether this would work, http://www.instructables.com/id/Laser-Cut-fabric-design/ showed that it can be done and the results can produce intricate patterns on a piece of fabric which I think would be effective when shining an LED light through it. marchesa-trimmed-rectangle

I wonder if this would work if you half cut out the diamond pattern

Above is the link to a blog that has various laser cutting projects on it that I found useful to draw inspiration from.

I also created various Pinterest boards to draw inspiration from ( http://www.pinterest.com/larajaynec/led-ideas/ , http://www.pinterest.com/larajaynec/digital-fabrication/ ) and the following are images of my favourite from these mood boards.

I think it would be interesting to explore how to make a form that you 3D print but can compress- what cell structure works best http://www.dezeen.com/2014/06/23/oluwaseyi-sosanya-invents-3d-weaving-machine-show-rca-2014/

Again a bendable structure that in itself is a beautiful form

I like the concept of producing something using the digital fabrication tools to then manually make something else- such as making a stamp. I would like to utilize the tools in a different way than what they are generally used for.
